Bleach for Your Eczema? Don’t Believe Everything You Read.

A recent study done at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago suggests that diluted bleach-baths two times per week can benefit children with eczema. The study was published in the recent issue of the Journal of Pediatrics Journal of Pediatrics.
Chlorine is an active element in bleach and it is a toxic chemical. There are numerous studies on the adverse effects of chlorine in people and health, some of these reports suggest its dangers effects while taking a shower, in swimming pools, as well as drinking water.
Ottawa Peace and Environment Resource Centre discusses the link between breast cancer and chlorine. While a social site for moms, called TwitterMoms, has a discussion on the dangers of using bleach around children.
There is no single way to treat eczema or any other skin condition. However, what is clear is that bleach is not one of them. Our external environment, in this case being the skin, is a reflection of our internal environment. The best way to address any skin condition is to focus on the health from the inside out.
